The History of the Lowriders Scooter Club

The Original Lowriders first formed by collegues of John Loving some years ago . Later Ex members of the Modrapheniacs that branched away!!!!! right in 1992 ish (end of summer)

Anyway there were about 6 of us that decided to go for it, they were myself Kev Benson, Emma Jones, Lee Doonan (pod), Andrew Bird (flash), Andy Moore ( Larry) and Trevour Pinion. There were quite a few other scooterists that we all used to knock about with at the time or others that were on intent of enlisting in to the Modrapheniacs.

We decided all to meet in the White Heart pub on a Saturday afternoon to sort all the priliminarys:

1..We needed a No:1 , pod was voted , but he didnt want to be a No:1 just a sort of chair man as we all agreed to the NO RULES club , just mates.

2.. Then we set up a treasury spelling? this was done by trevour.

3.. Flash, Pod and Kev came up with the idea of black and yellow after we were all going to turn up at a Bad Manners do , As the T, Shirt " You Fat Bastard" was in Yellow and black curtesy of Flash.

4.. I quickly designed some T-Shirts based on "wake" a custom lammbretta.

5.. The style was a skinhead type of trend , however it was frown apon by the commies of the club.

By this time we had about 25 members , a good proportion from the armed services. We were an excellent Scooter Club , as we had some really good laughs , we quickly developed some good bondings with a local club "English Rose SC", they too had a big contingency of the skinhead factor , we just clicked! We decided to collect subs , and I was delegated to do this by all the members as we needed to get some cash together to put on Dos, Patches etc.

We needed a pub! After some debate as to where to meet, It was put to us to meet in the Market House as they were a friendly pub run by Alan and Joy - Joy is John Lovings sister.

Brilliant! everybody got on really well, We even had a skinhead pool team apart from Larry the Crusty! A few of us represented the pub by playing footy , darts etc. Everybody had cut downs and always a lammy in the shed in bits, Some were on the dole bleeding the goverment dry , fuck the government we never really gave shit about anything!

We pay the price now I guess. Everybody had smart parties at their houses with raging punk ,ska , and Oi! Things have changed a bit! I was elected in as No: 1 for the Lowriders (Lynched more like!) I did this for 8 good Yrs. There have been some nice bikes in the club , cut downs , Lammys , Racers , choppers and standards.

At present we have about 24 members most with road going scooters, including about 5 females with full licences who all ride.
